ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR REGISTRATION AS A PHARMACIST IN HSPC

Entry Qualification in Diploma Pharmacy Course

Diploma in Pharmacy (Part-I and Part-II):-

Minimum qualification for admission to Diploma in Pharmacy Part-I course -A pass in any of the following examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics.

1. Intermediate examination in Science;
2. The first year of the three year degree course in Science,
3. 10+2 examination (academic stream) in Science;
4. Pre degree examination;
5. Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examination.

NOTE:

1. As per letter no.14-2/2003-PCI-13059-761 dtd.13-12-2004 of Pharmacy Council of India, candidates having Senior Secondary Certificates of Haryana Open School, Bhiwani are not eligible for admission to Diploma Course in Pharmacy.
2. As per letter no.14-2/2006-PCI-5763-6337 dtd.13-06-2007 of Pharmacy Council of India, following are not eligible to admission to Diploma Course in Pharmacy:
   1. Candidates having pre-university examinations (new scheme) of Andhra University with Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Physics, Chemistry, Biology are not eligible.
   2. Candidates of open school of any state and senior secondary school examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Maths conducted by national Open School, New Delhi are also not eligible.

Qualification for Registration as a Pharmacist

For registration as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, a candidate should have passed �Diploma in Pharmacy� or �Degree in Pharmacy� from an institution recognized under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act. �Diploma in Pharmacy� is a two years course after 10+2, followed by 500 hours practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months and �Degree in Pharmacy is a 4 years course after 10+2. The registration of pharmacist is done by the State Pharmacy Councils constituted by the State Govts. under section 19 of the Pharmacy Act. The registration is done under section 33 read with 32(2) of the Pharmacy act, according to which minimum statutory requirements for registration are as under: -

1. Applicant should have attained the age of 18 years & pay the prescribed fee.
   1. Application should resided or carry on the business or profession of Pharmacy, in the State.
   2. Applicant should have passed an approved examination or he should posses a qualification approved under section 14 of the Pharmacy Act or is a registered pharmacist in another state.

It is most respectfully submitted that u/s 10 of the Pharmacy Act, the PCI is empowered to prescribe the minimum standard of education required for qualification as a pharmacist and as per regulation 2 of the Education Regulations,. 1991, an approved course and examination for registration as a pharmacist is �a pass in diploma or degree course in Pharmacy� from an institution approved by the PCI u/s 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

Under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, only the following qualifications from an institution approved by the PCI u/s 12 of the Pharmacy Act are approved for the purpose of registration as a pharmacist to practice the profession �

Registration procedure for Pharm. D and Pharm.D. (Post Baccalaureate)

Guidelines for Registration:

1. Qualification for Registration

As per regulation 2 of Pharm. D Regulations, 2008, notified in the Gazette of India, dated 10th � 16th May, 2008, the following qualifications besides D.Pharm & B.Pharm are approved by the PCI for the purpose of registration as a pharmacist u/s 32(2) of the Pharmacy Act, 1948.

1. Pharm. D 6 years course after 10+2 or D.Pharm
2. Pharm. D (Post Baccalaureate) 3 years course after B.Pharm (B.Pharm holder gets direct admission in 4th year Pharm.D)

For the purpose of registration under the Pharmacy Act, it is mandatory that the above qualifications shall be acquired from an institution approved by the PCI u/s 12 of the Pharmacy Act for Pharm. D.

2. Registration
1. The candidate shall be of 18 years or more
2. he/she should reside or carry on the business or profession of pharmacy in the State.
3. he/she should have pass an approved examination i.e. he/she should have pass the Pharm. D. course from an institution approved by the PCI u/s 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
4. the approval status of such institutions can be verified from

   2. Council�s Notifications issued from time to time.

NOTE (Condition imposed by HSPC): In case of the candidates who have done their diploma/degree from Haryana state, may got registered with/without their original diploma/degree certificate. Further such candidates are required to submit copy of their original diploma/degree certificate at the time of their first renewal of registration. However, if the candidate who has done his/her diploma/degree from the state other than Haryana, their new registration should only be done if he/she will produce his/her original diploma/degree certificate at the time of registration.

1. File Cover of Card Board with tag.
2. A. Print out of duly filled Application Form generated online and six latest & identical passport size photos with White Background alongwith Appron (lab coat) with Printed Name badge.
3. B. Proof of deposition of registration fee Rs.4150/- (for five years only) in the form of original challan.
5. C. Applicant is required to submit additional Rs.1000/- in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Registrar Haryana State Pharmacy Council payable at Panchkula, if he/she has done is 10+2 or Pharmacy education from any other state i.e. outside Haryana.
6. D. Original Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- duly attested by Notary Public OR 1st Class Magistrate (downloaded from .
7. E. Original Undertaking Form for Educational Gap year.
8. F. ANNEXURE - 1 is mandatory for New Registration.
9. G. Self attested copy of 10th mark sheet showing Date of Birth, Father’s Name and Mother’s Name of the applicant.
10. H. Self attested copy of 12th Pass Certificate from Haryana Board or CBSE Board or any other Govt. Recognized Board showing requisite subjects passed i.e. as mentioned by the PCI
11. I. Self attested copies of Mark-Sheets of Diploma/Degree in Pharmacy of all the years.
12. J. Original Character Certificate issued from the institution last attended.
13. K. Original Provisional Degree Certificate issued by the College/University showing passed Diploma/Degree in Pharmacy examination.
14. L. Original Practical Training Certificate from recognized Government/Semi Government/Civil Dispensary etc. with written Time Period (Date mention) and Registration No. of Pharmacist (for Diploma Pharmacy Candidates only)
15. M. Letter from institution/college showing its approval from PCI for Diploma/Degree course for the year in which candidate qualifies its Diploma/Degree.
16. N. Self attested Copy of Any Two Proofs out of Three mentioned Proofs (Ration Card (front & its back side) showing name & address of applicant, Voter I-Card or Haryana Domicile will be accepted as residence proof only.
17. O. Self attested copy of Aadhar Card is mandatory for Aadhar link in order to avoid any duplication.
18. P. Self – addressed large size water-proof envelope (25cmX30cm) in size or large size with fixing stamp of Rs. 40/-.

Note: 1. The applicant is required to verify his/her all original documents from Matric onwards from the office of Haryana State Pharmacy Council Panchkula on any working day within given timeline.

Note: 2. In exceptional cases fee may be deposited in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of Registrar Haryana State Pharmacy Council payable at Panchkula. The demand draft should be drawn from any nationalized bank.
